Food trucks and twitter have become rather synonymous these days especially if you are a foodie like me! It is not uncommon for a food truck to tweet their current, or soon to be, location providing their followers an opportunity to come and eat. It is with the use of twitter the food truck is able to let its customers know in the masses exactly where they are going without looking at a website, even though most of us have access to the internet from our phones.

In the past this was not something they would have been able to do without the web or word of mouth. Then again who really wanted to go to a “roach coach” or eat “street meat” thinking these types of trucks were of a lesser quality and standard than a storefront. It was with this perfect time these food trucks took up twitter helping them spread the word. When looking at the use of twitter this is essentially a marketing campaign they use each and every day they are out and about. This is just one form of low cost marketing trucks use in the current environment, other than Facebook. It is with the use of social these trucks have been able to turn the tables on those former foes allowing some of them to be extremely successful.

If you’re looking for suggestions - I like DaLobstaChicago truck. Talk about a tasty treat there is nothing better than some lobster on a buttery bun with a mayonnaise type sauce, Oh yum! Another truck I like to follow is 5411empanadas truck which has amazing empanadas and chimichurri sauce! Finally for a sweet treat, which we can’t forget, is FlirtyCupcakes. The offer an amazing assortment of cupcakes, I highly suggest the McDreamy, for a good price and the cupcakes are the right size for me. They are not too big and not too small. You can also follow chifoodtruckz which provides a listing of the food trucks and their locations should you not want to follow each truck individually.
